How to Clean and Dry a Wooden Bottle Brush
After each use, wash away residue, rinse the bristles and handle, shake off extra water, and let the brush air dry in an open, ventilated spot. Keeping a wooden brush out of standing water is the most useful everyday care habit.
A simple after-use routine
- Remove visible food or drink residue from the bristles.
- Hand wash with warm water and a small amount of mild dish soap. Work the soap through the bristles without pulling them.
- Rinse until the water runs clear and no soap remains.
- Shake off excess water. Hang the brush or stand it where air can circulate around the head and water can drain.
Where to store the brush
Choose an open spot beside the sink instead of a closed drawer, sealed container, or cup that collects water. Leave space around the bristles. Drying time depends on airflow and humidity, so check that the head and handle have dried before storing the brush in an enclosed space.
Avoid prolonged soaking and harsh cleaning methods
Do not leave the wooden handle soaking in a sink or bowl. Hand washing is our recommended method for the ELDR brush. We do not recommend the dishwasher, boiling, bleach baths, or abrasive chemical treatments for it. Cleaning the brush is not a claim that it has been sterilized.
What if the brush smells or looks damaged?
Clean and dry it fully, then inspect it. If an odor persists, there is visible mold, the handle has cracked or splintered, or the head feels loose, stop using it. Read our replacement guide for signs to check.
Care cannot solve a poor fit
Do not push a brush through an opening that is too tight or bend the handle to reach a corner. The ELDR brush is 14 inches long with a 2.5-inch-wide head. Use our measurement guide before choosing it for a container.
