What Size Bottle Brush Do I Need?
Measure the narrowest opening and the depth you need to clean, then compare them with the brush head and overall length. Bottle capacity alone does not tell you whether a brush will fit.

These are product dimensions, not a guaranteed minimum bottle opening. Bristles can flex, but we have not established a tested minimum opening or a brand-by-brand fit list. Do not assume that compression will make a tight opening suitable.
Three checks before you buy
- Check the opening. Measure across the narrowest inside opening, including any neck below the rim. Compare it with the 2.5-inch-wide head and allow room for easy movement. Do not force the brush through.
- Check the reach. Measure from the opening to the bottom. The overall 14-inch length includes your handhold and brush head; leave enough handle outside the container for a secure grip.
- Check the shape and surface. Shoulders, curved necks, internal ridges, and delicate coatings can affect access. Follow the container manufacturer's cleaning instructions.
Which containers should I consider?
A straight-sided wide-mouth jar or bottle is a useful starting point to measure. A narrow-neck bottle may need a slimmer brush. A short tumbler may need less reach, while a deep pitcher needs enough handle left outside to hold securely. These examples describe shapes to check; they are not compatibility promises.
What about a 7-inch brush?
ELDR Supply has a shorter 7-inch brush planned. It is not yet available to order here. A shorter overall length does not by itself establish a narrower head; check the final product dimensions when it launches.
After you choose a brush
Hand wash it before first use. Move it gently without forcing the handle or wedging the head. Rinse and air dry after cleaning. See the care guide and buying guide.
